RECAP! Thank you to everyone who supported our 2022 drive efforts, whether by bringing a donation, supporting the vendors at the event, or by being a donor to our opportunity prizes! We are elated to report we received more than 948 donations for this year’s drive! You brought 338 food items and 88 toys to support humans in need in San Diego. You brought 522 donations for local animal rescues and sanctuaries! That was 410 items for Orphan Kitten Club, 10 items for Lionel’s Legacy dog rescue, 14 items for Farm Animal Refuge, 68 items for San Diego House Rabbit Society, 16 items for Wee Companions, and 4 items for the Parrot Education and Adoption Center! We are so grateful for your support and we look forward to having you join us again in 2023!

Join Vegan in San Diego for our fourth annual Holiday Fair, Food & Toy Drive on Friday, December 2, 2022, at First Friday Night Market at Grossmont Center in La Mesa! Admission is free and open to the public. We will be collecting vegan pantry items for a local food bank in an effort to make compassionate food choices more accessible to our San Diego community members. We will also be collecting toys for San Diego children in need as well as supplies and toys for several local animal rescue organizations. To thank you for supporting our efforts, all donated items can be exchanged for opportunity drawing entries (one item for one ticket — prizes listed below!) to win your choice of awesome prizes!

Food donations benefit: Jewish Family Services “The Corner Market” food pantry
Suggested donations: (all vegan) non-perishable foods, canned fruits and vegetables, beans, rice, lentils, pasta, noodles, pasta sauces, shelf stable plant milk, dehydrated fruit, nuts, seeds, vegan jerky, soup, broth, protein bars, chips, crackers, pretzels, nut butter, granola, oatmeal, cooking oils, spices, vegan sugar, and any other shelf-stable vegan pantry items that you think would be appreciated!
Children’s Toys: San Diego Youth Services
Donations requested: new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages
Dog food and supplies: Lionel’s Legacy(rescues dogs, senior guinea pigs, and chickens!)
Donations requested: Amazon Wish List items, timothy hay, guinea pig bedding, chicken feed and scratch
Cat/kitten food and supplies benefit: Orphan Kitten Club
Donations requested: gently used beach towels, cans of adult wet cat food for TNR program, baby blankets and cat toys
Rabbit food and supplies benefit: San Diego House Rabbit Society
Donations requested: fleece blankets, approved treats and toys from the Bunny Supply Store, items from Amazon Wish List, eco laundry soap, nitrile exam gloves size small, paper towels, toiler paper, kleenex, copy paper, puppy pads, trash bags in sizes 33 gal, 50 gal, 13 gal, postage stamps, disinfectant wipes, professional spray bottles, galloon Ziploc bags

- Most vendors bring at least one gluten free menu item.
- No soliciting or signature gathering will be allowed at this event.
