Breakfast Republic is a popular breakfast restaurant with five locations across San Diego county: North Park, Liberty Station, Ocean Beach, Encinitas, and East Village, all open daily from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. The chain recently added a labeled vegan option to its menu. The new item is a tofu scramble seasoned with curry and loaded with various vegetables and vegan sausage. It’s served with a side of potatoes and a slice of toast. The portions are large, but the menu currently offers only two vegan options — the Vegan Madras Curry Scramble ($12) and the Seasonal Fruit Plate ($6.5). They also offer dairy-alternative milks for coffee, including soy and almond milk.
This would make a good vegan-friendly spot for the times nonvegan family members want to have breakfast and you need a spot with a vegan option. Some diners may be put off by other customers’ plates.
